SCOUTING REPORT ON
LAMOND MURRAY:
NBA Veteran -
FORWARD Lamond
Murray, a veteran of
13 NBA seasons, just
completed his 1st
season in Bahrain
which was
highlighted by his
team, Muharraq,
winning the BAHRAIN
CUP CHAMPIONSHIP
with Lamond scoring
45 points in the
final game to secure
the title. They
followed that up
with a trip to the
Bahrain League
championship series
but came up just
short in the finals.
In 2009, in his 3rd
season in the
International
Basketball League
(IBL) Lamond led his
team, the LA
Lightning, to a
playoff championship
win. Lamond was
named the MVP of the
best of 3
Championship Final
Series after scoring
26.3ppg, 5.7rpg,
4.0apg 57.4FG% &
81.8FT% in the
series.
Lamond is a player
who can play
multiple positions
and can take on
multiple roles as is
often requested of
him. He is an
amazing rebounder
who finished ranked
#1 in the league in
the IBL in 2008. He
is a veteran player
with a strong inside
presence who knows
how to use his body
well. At 6'7" he has
shown that he has no
problem rebounding
against taller
opponents even as
big as 7'0". This
multi-faceted player
is also an excellent
outside shooter from
the 3 Point line and
foul line. He was
41.4% from behind
the 3-point arc in
2009 and shot 81.8%
from the Free Throw
line in the IBL
Championship Finals
in July 2009. He is
a very difficult
player to defend
because of his
unbeleivably
well-rounded
skillset.
Lamond Murray was
drafted #7 overall
by the LA Clippers.
During his NBA
career Lamond was a
top contributor for
the LA Clippers,
Cleveland Cavaliers,
Toronto Raptors and
the New Jersey Nets.
His best season
statistically was
with Cleveland
Cavaliers in 2002
when he scored
16.6ppg, 5.2rpg,
2.2apg, 1.0spg,
43.6FG%, 42.4 3PT%,
81.7FT%. In 2008
Lamond helped lead
his team Guandong to
the CBA Championship
in CHINA.
